Quiet Over Newlyn

This composition study was used for the larger work of the same name. A view over the rooftops from a lane off Old Paul Hill with St Michael’s Mount in the distance. There is just enough information to make this sketch understandable and instantly recognisable. Loose and sketchy marks and vibrant colours create an energetic piece.
