Summer Calm
Compostion Study
Acrylic on Board, 20cm x 20cm
£300
This is the composition study for a larger painting of the same name which was also part of the Newlyn Calling exhibition. The gestural brushstrokes of the buildings contrast against the sharp graphical elements over the top, just to give it enough contextual detail. This study experiments with colour working out what could be a possible colour story to compliment the pink sea, which became a signature sea colour from the previous ‘An Audience With St Ives Bay’ exhibition.
This painting was exhibited at the Summerhouse Gallery in Marazion, Cornwall as part of the Newlyn Cornwall exhibition in 2025
Framed in a simple white tray frame, ready to hang.
