Facing The Frontier
Acrylic on Canvas, 40cm x 40cm
£500
The chalets in Riviere Towans have been a great source of inspiration.
For me, the creative process isn’t always the same, some paintings demand intense concentration and others seem to almost create themselves. These magic moments often create interesting results and a basis from which new paintings can evolve from. This was one such painting where the painting formed from an experimental process. Highlighting the windows on just one chalet, with crisp white lines create a contrast between the energetic gestural marks.
The focal chalet is poised above the rest, as the title suggests, facing the frontier, with nothing between it and that incredible view over St Ives Bay.
This painting was exhibited at the Penwith Gallery in St Ives, Cornwall as part of my solo show ‘Chaletscape’ exhibition in 2023
Framed in a white tray frame, ready to hang.
