Summer Heat
Acrylic on Board, 60cm x 60cm
£900
The chalets in Riviere Towans have been a great source of inspiration.
I wanted to create a painting that could express the heat of a summer’s day using the chalets. I feel this has been achieved by using strong colours in a reductive, almost abstracted context, contrasted against a strong blue sky. The lone cloud is figurative, which I think adds to the intensity of the blue sky and creates a tension between the land and sky.
This painting was exhibited at the Penwith Gallery in St Ives, Cornwall as part of my solo show ‘Chaletscape’ exhibition in 2023. The painting is titled and signed to the reverse
Framed in oak, ready to hang.
